Freedom

We talked about Galatians 5 today. When I read it, I was struck by verses 2, 3 and 4. "Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ will be of no benefit to you. I'll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey every regulation in the whole law of Moses. For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God's grace."

You know, I find it so very appealing and attractive that Jesus Christ transforms from within a person. That, if we allow him to work in us, something happens in our heart, mind, body, everything, and results in an amazing change in a person, with new desires and a new purpose. I am not claiming to understand it and I can not even experience it to the extent I would like to. But I've had a taste of the freedom that Jesus Christ paid for, and a taste of the freedom that living with the Holy Spirit within brings. And there is nothing on this earth or anywhere else that I would like more than to experience this in a 24/7 sense -- know what I mean?

I pray for this tonight.

I fall into the trap often of thinking that things I do will gain me entry (or deny me access) to heaven and the presence of God himself. Nothing I do even has an impact -- it is the state of my heart at all times that counts.

Interesting.
